RSG HOCKEY ACADEMY

RSG Hockey Academy
The RSG Hockey Academy offers an immersive hockey training and academic environment designed for student-athletes who are serious about elevating their game. Open to players of all ages, the program runs out of the RSG Arena at Bridgewater from September 2026 through May 2027, under Program Director Bryce Salvador and Hockey Director John Morea. The Academy day runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and players bring their own lunch.
Each day is built around a high-intensity schedule consisting of purposeful ice time, followed immediately by off-ice strength and conditioning. Athletes then transition to a certified teacher-supervised, on-site classroom, where they complete their academic coursework with support, so training and school happen under one roof.
A Day at the Academy
On-Ice Training — 60–75 minutes of purposeful, high-intensity ice time built around skating, skill development, and compete.
Off-Ice Strength & Conditioning — 60–75 minutes of athletic development focused on strength, speed, and durability, led by Director of Off-Ice Strength and Conditioning Ryan Anderson.
Classroom & Academics — Following training, athletes transition to a supervised, distraction-free classroom led by Christine Yager, a certified teacher. Student-athletes spend roughly 3.5 to 4 hours daily completing their online or homeschool coursework with dedicated on-site support.
Academics & Online Schooling
The Academy classroom is built to support student-athletes enrolled in flexible, accredited online schools, giving players the structure to keep their education on track while they train. We recommend two trusted partners whose programs are designed for athletes with demanding schedules:
Dwight Global Online School — a world-recognized private online school for Grades 6–12, offering Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate courses. Built for traveling and competing student-athletes, with the flexibility to study from home or on the road. www.dwight.edu/dwight-global-online-school
Laurel Springs School — an accredited K–12 private online school (WASC & Cognia) offering 300+ self-paced, college-prep courses, 60+ AP and Honors options, and a strong student-athlete community. www.laurelsprings.com
Online school enrollment and tuition are separate and not included in Academy pricing.** Families have full choice of the online or home-school program that best fits their child — the schools above are recommendations, not requirements.
Academy Leadership
Bryce Salvador — Program Director. Bryce brings over 14 years of elite NHL playing experience to the RSG Hockey Academy. A veteran of 759 NHL games with the St. Louis Blues and New Jersey Devils, he served as the captain of the Devils, leading the team to the 2012 Stanley Cup Final. He oversees every detail of the Academy—from scheduling and staffing to the day-to-day athlete experience—ensuring that the on-ice, off-ice, and academic components align perfectly to move student-athletes to the next level.
John Morea — Hockey Director. Coach Morea brings a wealth of professional and junior playing experience to his role. In 2006, he was drafted in the eighth round (92nd overall) by the Green Bay Gamblers in the USHL Entry Draft, sparking a career that took him through junior hockey across North America, minor-professional opportunities, and an invitation to an NHL Development Camp. He now leverages that elite competitive background to mentor and develop the next generation of youth athletes, focusing on advanced skill execution and tactical player progression.
Ryan Anderson — Director of Off-Ice Strength and Conditioning. Ryan leads the Academy's off-ice athletic development, building the strength, speed, and durability athletes need to perform and stay healthy across a demanding season.
Christine Yager — Certified Teacher, Classroom & Academics. A certified teacher, Christine supervises the Academy's on-site classroom and provides academic support, giving student-athletes a structured environment to stay on top of their coursework.
