RSG Learn To Skate 2026 - 2027
The Rockets Sports Group Learn to Skate Program at The RSG Arenas at Bridgewater is the perfect place to begin your skating journey! Built on the nationally recognized Learn to Skate USA curriculum, we offer classes for everyone—from toddlers taking their very first steps on the ice to adults learning a new skill, as well as hockey-focused Learn to Skate classes for future players.
Whether you're stepping onto the ice for the first time or building the confidence to reach the next level, our program is designed to make learning fun, safe, and exciting. Skaters will develop new skills, gain confidence, make lifelong friends, celebrate achievements, and most importantly—discover a lifelong love for skating!

RSG's Learn to Skate Program:
30 minutes of fun, instructor-led group lessons each week designed to build confidence and skating skills in a supportive environment.
8 FREE Public Skate admissions to help you practice what you learn! Use your passes on any weekday or weekend public skating session throughout the semester. ( Passes expire at the end of the Learn to Skate semester.)
Required: A Learn to Skate USA Membership, the nation's premier beginner skating program endorsed by U.S. Figure Skating, USA Hockey, and US Speed Skating, with support from the Special Olympics, Professional Skaters Association, and the U.S. Ice Rink Association. Your membership is valid July 1 through June 30 and provides access to the official curriculum, skill tracking, and more.
Class Registration Guide
Choosing the right class is easy!
⛸️ Ages 3 → Register for Pre-School
❄️ Ages 4–6 → Register for Snowplow Sam 1
🏒 Ages 7–15 → Register for Basic 1
⭐ Ages 15+ → Register for Adult 1–3
Already have skating experience? If your skater has taken lessons before, please contact our Skating Office before registering. We'll help place them in the class that best matches their current skill level so they can continue progressing with confidence.
Pre-School Level
Our Pre-School class is the perfect introduction to ice skating for our youngest skaters! Through fun games, creative activities, and encouraging instruction, children will build confidence on the ice while learning basic balance, marching, falling down safely, getting up, and gliding. This class focuses on making skating a positive and exciting experience while developing the fundamental skills needed for future Learn to Skate levels. Parents will love watching their little ones take their first steps toward a lifelong love of skating!
Snowplow Sam 1- 4 Level
Snowplow Sam is designed specifically for young skaters ages 4–6 who are ready to begin their skating journey. In this fun and supportive class, skaters will learn the fundamentals of balance, marching, gliding, forward movement, and safe falling and recovery. Through engaging activities and age-appropriate instruction, participants will build confidence on the ice while developing the foundational skills needed to progress through the Learn to Skate USA program.
Basic 1- 5 Levels
Basic 1 is the perfect starting point for new skaters ages 7–15. This class introduces the essential fundamentals of skating, including balance, forward skating, stopping, gliding, and safe falling and recovery. Skaters will build confidence and coordination through structured instruction in a fun, encouraging environment while developing the skills needed to advance through the Learn to Skate USA program and explore figure skating, hockey, or recreational skating.
Adult 1-6 Level
Whether you're stepping onto the ice for the first time or returning after years away, Adult 1–6 is designed for skaters ages 15 and older of all experience levels. In a relaxed and supportive environment, participants will learn and develop essential skating skills such as balance, forward and backward skating, stopping, turning, and gliding at their own pace. Whether your goal is recreational skating, improving for hockey, or simply trying something new, this class is a fun and rewarding way to build confidence on the ice.
Important Class Policies
Make-Ups: There are no make-up classes for any missed classes.
Cancellations: Classes may be combined due to lack of enrollment. Cancellations may occur if registration fails to meet the required number of students.
Transfers: Skaters may not switch days or times once classes start.
