The Rockets Sports Group Learn to Skate program at Bridgewater Sports Arena utilizes the Ice Sports Industry Learn to Skate Program, which offers classes from Toddler to Adult skating instruction and Hockey Learn-to-Skate Classes!
Our program is offered to people of all ages and abilities. This introduction to skating emphasizes fun and safety. It quickly generates confidence as skaters develop new skills, make new friends, and earn recognition.
TRIAL CLASSES ALL AGES!!
This is a personal lesson for 25 minutes including the coach's fee, ice fee and rental fee all for just $40. This will help you to be prepared for group lessons. It is also a great for those who are not sure about lessons to trial before you commit to an 8-week session.
FOR CHILDREN 4 AND UNDER THIS IS REQUIRED!
You must schedule with the Skating Director
AGES 5 - 6 BEGIN AT THE TOT LEVEL
AGES 7 - 12 BEGIN AT THE PRE-ALPHA 1 LEVEL
AGES 13 AND OVER BEGIN AT THE ADULT BEGINNER LEVEL
Important Class Necessities
- Skate Rental or your own appropriate skates of the correct size. Please do not buy adjustable skates or skates that have not been tried on. We have a skate fitter who you can make an appointment with to help you get the correct skates.
- Double runner skates are not permitted
- Learn to Skate ISI Membership is required for all participants (valid Sept 1 - August 31). You can use the order number to register for class the first time and after that you will need your ISI member number. Please email the skating school director your member number when received. It takes up to 3 weeks.
- Helmets are MANDATORY you must bring your own
- If wearing hockey skates you must wear a hockey helmet with a full cage
- Wear warm comfortable layers, long medium thick socks and gloves
Important Class Policies
- Registration fees must be paid in full to reserve a spot.
- 2 make-ups allowed. They expire on the last day of class for the season.
- Season Cancellation - Not allowed after week 2. A credit will be offered in lieu of a refund. We have a no refund policy. Exceptions will be considered with a doctors note. A one class fee will be charged.
- Classes will be combined due to lack of enrollment. In the case of class cancellation we will look for suitable alternatives.
- Transfers will be considered if there is space available
- Skaters cannot skip levels. To advance to the next level, skaters must be evaluated.
RISING STARS BRIDGE PROGRAM
Our bridge program is “the bridge” from the basics of skating into a “training program” offering skaters and parents an introduction to all the skating disciplines and what is required for recreational skating or a competitive career. Parents will be eased into what to expect. The Bridge Program incorporates circuit training on and off the ice curriculum in an affordable and valuable next-step class option for the skater and parent looking to pursue skating further.
FREESTYLE SESSIONS
A private session for figure skaters and coaches to conduct private lessons, work on jumps, spins, moves in the field, dance, and competitive programs with music. If you are looking for a private lesson coach, please email the Skating Director with the name, age, and level of skater, and she will help you find one.
